Project Summary:

India plays home to the youngest student population in the world that will enter the work landscape. In a rapidly changing work environment where jobs are being taken over by robots and algorithms, equipping the workforce with 21st Century Skills is essential. Enabling this demographic dividend to meaningfully contribute to the quickly changing digital world of work necessitates that our students learn relevant skills to become future-proof and ready for the digital-based knowledge economy. As educators there exists an urgent need to nurture a new generation of thinkers and tinkerers who are equipped with the values and skills that can solve the problems of tomorrow with imagination and sensitivity.

AMMACHI Labs with the support of the Department of Science and Technology (DST) have initiated Digital@ikya; a series of 21st Century Skills workshops that are aimed at building capacity amongst Indian school children. With Digital@ikya we endeavor to leverage on the widespread access to affordable internet and usage of smartphones to deliver the most relevant skills to our student population from the comfort of their homes.
