
Top Accolades at World Haptics Conference Student Innovation Challenge 2023
AMMACHI Labs Team makes it to the Top 3 in the World Haptics Conference Student Innovation Challenge 2023
As part of the World Haptics Conference our Haptics team from AMMACHI Labs, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri consisting of MTech intern: Ramakrishnan, and two BTech interns: Pranav and Rithin, and Senior Researcher Deepu D S, under the guidance of Dr. Shashi Kant Shankar won the Student Innovation Challenge 2023 Phase 1. Additionally, the team was invited to Phase 2, a week-long hackathon hosted by SenseGlove in Delft, Netherlands, July 3-13, 2023. The challenge removes around solutions to real-world problems using Haptic technology.

This year’s theme, “Virtual Connections,” has sparked creativity and passion for haptic technology. Out of countless talented participants representing esteemed universities worldwide, our team has secured a remarkable position as one of the top three qualifiers across the globe for Phase 2 of the highly prestigious World Haptics Competition and Conference in the Netherlands.
In phase 1 of the challenge, the tam enthusiastically showcased the versatility of their Virtual Reality Scaffolding Simulator. The process helped the team gain learning experience through assembling tasks, utilizing the cutting-edge Razer headset. The simulation provides users with immersive vibrotactile and auditory feedback. The team’s innovative proposal caught the attention of the judges, who awarded them with top accolades.
To add to their accomplishments, Team Amrita showcased their remarkable work during a demo at the upcoming SenseGlove IEEE World Haptics Conference.
