Project Summary

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham collaborated with ​Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) and School ​Education ​Department to complete a pilot project called “Redesigning ​Educational ​Pathways using ​Technology and ​Innovative ​Pedagogical ​Constructs for ​Scalable ​Quality ​Education and ​Lifelong ​Learning” in selected state model schools. As part of the project, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham conducted workshops in Robotics, Computational Thinking, Maker skills, Cybersecurity, Life Skills, Vulnerability mapping, and Virtual reality and serious games to children in schools in Peda Komera and Maddularva (Krishna district) and Karempudi and Krosuru (Guntur district).

Subsequently, in 2016-2017 academic year, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham conducted a series of train the trainer program sessions as a part of its Andhra Pradesh Schools Program Innovation For Research and Excellence (ASPIRE) initiative wherein 250 mentors selected by Andra Pradesh Government were trained to teach school children Computational Thinking, Robotics, Virtual Reality and Serious Games, Internet and Web Technologies, Life Skills, Maker Skills and Vulnerability mapping. These sessions were conducted by Ammachilabs in collaboration with Amrita e-Learning Research Lab (AERL) in the Amritapuri cmapus of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. The trainers field tested their skills by conducting 2 day workshops for 7-9 grade children studying in Amrita Vidyalayam Schools. All mentors were provided certificates after their three week long training.
