Palwali, Faridabad, Haryana, India — August 22-23, 2024 AMMACHI Labs has once again demonstrated its dedication to empowering women artisans with its latest workshop aimed at enhancing their craft and business skills. Held in Palwali, Faridabad, the two-day event brought together 11 participants from various Self Help Groups, all trained under the Amrita SANKALP AVSAR scheme.
The workshop featured renowned designer Muskan Chhatwal from the National Institute of Fashion and Technology, who provided hands-on training in pattern making and spatial thinking. Chhatwal’s expertise was instrumental in helping participants understand and visualize the transformation of a 2D pattern into a finished tote bag. The workshop included practical exercises where attendees created replicas of patterns to ensure accuracy and precision.
In addition to pattern-making skills, participants learned about designer seam finishes and their significance in handling large commercial orders. This knowledge is crucial for the artisans as they seek to expand their reach and improve the quality of their products in the marketplace.
Facilitated by Arti Tiwari, the workshop was designed to address the unique needs and time constraints of the women artisans, ensuring that they continue to thrive and build upon their skills even after the project concludes.
AMMACHI Labs remains committed to supporting women artisans beyond the scope of individual projects. By offering continuous education and resources, they aim to help these women-led businesses flourish and make a significant impact in their communities.
