Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Students Win Bronze in IEEE R10 Humanitarian Technology Conference Innovation Challenge

We are thrilled to announce that students from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham have won the Bronze award in the 2024 IEEE R10 Humanitarian Technology Conference (HTC) Innovation Challenge. This prestigious competition, which brings together innovators from across IEEE Region 10, focused on the theme, “Fostering the Future: Advancing Humanity Through Technological Ingenuity.”

Certificate of Achievement - Awarded to Rthuraj P R, Arunav H, Vyshnavi Anil Kumar, and Arjun Venugopal for their innovative project titled "HakshE - A Social Robot to Promote Handwashing and Hand Hygiene."

IEEE Region 10, also known as the “Asia Pacific Region,” encompasses a vast geographical area stretching from South Korea and Japan in the northeast to New Zealand in the south, and Pakistan in the west. It includes 57 Sections, 6 Councils, 17 Sub-sections, 515 Chapters, 60 Affinity Groups, and 958 Student Branches. The HTC Innovation Challenge invited teams from this diverse region to contribute technological solutions addressing humanitarian needs.

The multi-disciplinary team from Amrita comprised Vyshnavi, Arunav, and Rthu, interns at AMMACHI Labs from the Amrita School of Engineering, and Arjun from AMMACHI Labs. Their outstanding collaboration and commitment to impactful technological development have been recognized through this award.
