Chennai, India – June 2025: AMMACHI Labs, a research center of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, continues to deepen its commitment to advancing technology-driven skill development in the construction sector through strategic industry collaborations.
On June 10, 2025, Gayathri Manikutty, Senior Researcher at AMMACHI Labs, visited the L&T Ramavaram campus in Chennai for a high-level meeting with Mr. P. M. Saravanan, Joint General Manager and Head of the Precasting Cell, and Mr. Egambaram Mohanraj, Cluster Head – South, L&T Construction. The dialogue served as a valuable platform to revisit past partnerships and reaffirm the shared vision inspired by Amma’s values and Amrita University’s mission to uplift underserved communities through technology and education.
Further strengthening these ties, a second meeting took place on June 23, 2025, featuring Mr. Ajay Balakrishnan, Associate Director at AMMACHI Labs; Ms. Gayathri Manikutty; and Mr. Ajai Kumar, who engaged in strategic discussions with Mr. S. P. Rajan, Vice President and Head of the Competency Centre at Larsen & Toubro, and Mr. Saravanan. The meeting explored innovative intersections between technology, skill development, and the construction industry.
Notably, L&T expressed strong interest in co-developing simulation and AI-based tools for construction site safety, workforce upskilling, and capacity-building initiatives. These collaborations promise to create impactful, scalable solutions that bridge the skill gap in the sector while enhancing job readiness and safety.
