Harsani, Barmer District, Rajasthan | January 16, 2026: A significant step toward strengthening rural livelihoods and women’s empowerment was marked with the formal inauguration of a Skill Training and Women’s Empowerment Center in Harsani, Barmer District, Rajasthan.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by the Aarti of Amma, setting a spiritually resonant tone for the occasion. The center was officially inaugurated through a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Shri Dinesh Bharati Ji, Guru of Harsani Math, and Shri Ravindra Singh Bhati, Hon’ble MLA of the Sheo Constituency, in the presence of local leaders and dignitaries.
On this occasion, the Tailoring Unit was formally launched, including the inauguration and ritual worship of sewing machines, symbolizing the beginning of skill-based livelihood opportunities for women in the village.
The event also featured community awareness sessions, with Shri Vijaypal Ji, Agriculture Officer, sharing insights on ongoing government schemes, and Dr. Pawan Kumawat Ji, Veterinary Officer, addressing livestock care, animal nutrition, and disease prevention.
Other distinguished guests included Rajendra Ji (Deputy Tehsildar), Shri Anil Gautam Ji (Temple Priest, Harsani), Shri Mahendra Singh Ji (Sarpanch), and Shri Ganpat Ji.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from the community, with over 225 attendees, including media representatives from Rajasthan Patrika, police officials, social workers, and local residents. The event was also attended by 17 Live-in-Labs students and two faculty members from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri Campus.
Envisioned as a community-led hub for skill training, self-reliance, and women’s empowerment, the center aims to promote sustainable livelihoods and inclusive rural development in the region.
