According to Earth Day Network, each year, earth day- April 22nd-marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970. This year is dedicated to spreading awareness about plastic pollution. AMMACHI Labs community organizers and #SHG women along with many of the villagers and hundreds of children across India came together to celebrate #EarthDay. In Hadiyabad village, Bihar, a street play was conducted by the children which highlighted the slogan “do not throw garbage on the roadside and use dustbins”. #CO, facilitator and #Create tuition teacher, #Aserve coordinator, and health worker also highlighted the importance of the event by leading a street play on the theme “save the tree for environmental protection”. In Nagla Chandi, Vrindavan our team along with villagers celebrated the event by doing Bhoomi(earth) pooja and made rangolis in their courtyards.
