December 15-16, 2024 : Members of AMMACHI Labs recently visited Olaikuda Village and Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, to engage with students from the women’s self-help group and Fisherwomen Society Leader, Swarnamakka. The visit focused on advancing ongoing initiatives aimed at empowering local women and fostering sustainable livelihoods.

During the discussions, the women highlighted the need for a dedicated space to conduct meetings and training sessions. The AMMACHI Labs team assured them of their support and guidance in applying to the relevant government departments to secure such a facility.

The team also reviewed progress on the seaweed cultivation project with the students, covering essential topics like raft cultivation techniques and seed conservation strategies. Despite challenges posed by adverse weather conditions, the women expressed enthusiasm and determination to move forward with the project.

This visit underscores AMMACHI Labs’ commitment to community engagement and sustainable development, strengthening its partnership with local leaders and empowering women in coastal regions.
