45 students, selected from 1000 students from the Amrita SANKALP centers in various parts of India, and invited to join the celebrations for Amma’s 70th Birthday Celebrations, Amritavarsham 70, held at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus, after successfully completing their vocational and life skills training under the National AVSAR Sankalp Scheme, got the opportunity to get blessed by Amma during the official programs.

They all received their certificates during the day’s events, joined by students from other skill training initiatives by Amrita, supported by partners such as Esri India and the Transworld Group. A total of over 5,000 women were trained in the last year.

The SANKALP project (Skill Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion project), is implemented in various parts of India by AMMACHI Labs in collaboration with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship MSDE, Government of India, and the National Skill Development Corporation NSDC, to boost boost short term Skill Training programs for long term benefits through strengthening institutions, bringing in better market connectivity and inclusion of marginalized sections of the society. Through the trainings, women get the skills and confidence they need to succeed.
