Certificates to Sankalp students – Nawada

January 24, 2024 – Certificates were distributed today to 30 students from the Amrita Sankalp Tailoring center, Nawada village, Faridabad (Haryana), who successfully completed the tailoring courses. Tailoring material was also distributed to a business group started by the students.
The chief guest for the program was State Bank of India Field Coordinator Honorable Shri Krishnan (Tigaon Branch), and the special guests were Munesh (Social Worker), Kamla (Asha Worker) and Sunita Anganwadi (Teacher).

This came under the SANKALP project (Skill Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion project), a program of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India, and the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), implemented in various parts of India by Amrita University, to boost short term Skill Training programs for long term benefits through strengthening institutions, bringing in better market connectivity and inclusion of marginalized sections of the society. Through the training, women gained the skills and confidence they needed to start their own businesses.
