Certificates to Sankalp tailoring students – Puthenvelikara

January 17, 2024 – Certificates were distributed to 41 students from the Amrita Sankalp tailoring center in Puthenvelikaram, Ernakulam district, who all successfully completed their training courses.

Bri. Karunyamrita of M.A. Math headed the event, in the presence of “Viveka Chandrika Sabha” President M. B. Sasi, accompanied by secretary T.S. Murali, manager T.S. Sudheesh and cashier M.K. Ambujakshan.

This came under the SANKALP project (Skill Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion project), a program of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship MSDE, Government of India, and the National Skill Development Corporation NSDC, implemented in various parts of India by Amrita University, to boost short term Skill Training programs for long term benefits through strengthening institutions, bringing in better market connectivity and inclusion of marginalized sections of the society. Through the training, women gained the skills and confidence they needed to start their own businesses.
