Certificates to Tailoring Students – Sankalp – Bhainsrawali

January 8, 2024 – The ceremony of distribution of certificates to students from the Amrita Sankalp Tailoring center Bhainsrawali village, Faridabad (Haryana), took place today. Chief guest of the program, Devdutt (Clerical cadre, Government Water Department, Haryana) and special guests Singh Ram (Junior Engineer), Siya Ram (Post Master) handed over the certificates to 50 students from the center, who have successfully completed the tailoring course.
During the event, sewing machines were also distributed to a business group formed by the students, and data collection done for 3 business groups.

The center was part of the SANKALP project (Skill Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion project), implemented in various parts of India by Amrita University in collaboration with Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship MSDE, Government of India, and the National Skill Development Corporation NSDC, to boost short term Skill Training programs for long term benefits through strengthening institutions, bringing in better market connectivity and inclusion of marginalized sections of the society. Through the trainings, women gained the skills and confidence they needed to start their own businesses.
