Certificates to Tailoring Students – Sankalp – Palwali

January 9, 2024 – Certificates were distributed to 44 students from the Amrita Sankalp Tailoring center at the Palwali village, Faridabad (Haryana), who successfully completed the training courses at the center. Sewing machines and tailoring equipment were also handed over to 4 different business groups created by the students.

The ceremony was headed by local dignitaries: Chief guest Sri Rakesh Sharma, along with special guests Sri Mukesh (Numberdar) and Sri Jai Kishan Sharma (social worker).

The event came under the SANKALP project (Skill Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion project), a program of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India, and the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), implemented in various parts of India by #AmritaUniversity, to boost short term Skill Training programs for long term benefits through strengthening institutions, bringing in better market connectivity and inclusion of marginalized sections of the society. Through the training, women gained the skills and confidence they needed to start their own businesses.
