Discovering what motivates communities is key to engagement. AMMACHI Labs recently did an intervention to inspire community ownership & participation by locals at Dr. Khera Village in Lucknow.

The idea was to have community members work directly with policy makers to effect change and speed up development. Through our programs, we motivated the village to form a 12 member team.

Through a democratic process, they voted and elected a president and secretary to represent the community and meet officials. In the spirit of gender equality, the committee was equally distributed, with 6 men and 6 women.
