Distribution of Tailoring Certificates in Tigaon

January 2, 2024 – The ceremony of distribution of certificates and 4 machines to a business group formed by students from the Amrita Sankalp Tailoring center in Tigaon Village, Faridabad (Haryana), took place today.

Tailoring certificates were distributed to 43 tailoring women in the program, in the presence of staff members from the AMMACHI Labs Sankalp team, including Vinod Singh Rawat, Harsh Tiwari, Arti, Preeti.

Chief guest of the program, Sarpanch Vikram Pratap Singh of Tigaon village and special guests of the program Veerpal Singh, Devraj Singh started the program by lighting the lamp.

The Tigaon training center was part of the SANKALP project (Skill Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion project), implemented in various parts of India by Amrita University in collaboration with Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship MSDE, Government of India, , and the National Skill Development Corporation NSDC, to boost short term SkillTraining programs for long term benefits through strengthening institutions, bringing in better market connectivity and inclusion of marginalized sections of the society. Through the trainings, women gained the skills and confidence they needed to start their own businesses.
