In Kalinagar village, West Bengal our community organizer arranged an awareness session on Child marriage. On the day of the event, #CO decided to visit each house in the village to personally invite the women. While visiting one of the house CO had to witness a husband beating his wife to restrain her from attending the awareness session. But later on, the lady managed to come to the class along with other self-help group members.
Noticing this situation, CO changed her session topic to #DomesticViolence and our women took the initiative to present a drama on this social issue which affects many of the women. On April 19, women from the neighboring villages also participated in the program.
