Inauguration Ceremony Kicks Off 5-Day TOT Project in Sarai Nooruddinpur

Sarai Nooruddinpur, UP, July 10, 2024 – The 5-day Training of Trainers (TOT) project commenced with a successful inauguration ceremony in Sarai Nooruddinpur village, Uttar Pradesh. This project will span 14 Amrita Covid Community Resilience Resource Centres (CCRRC) across India.

The opening ceremony was graced by chief guest Miss Mamta, the Block Mission Manager of the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), and the village’s senior woman, Mrs. Photo Devi. The event began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, attended by Self-Help Group members, local women, and staff from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.

Miss Mamta provided a comprehensive overview of the TOT project and its objectives, emphasizing the collaboration between Amrita and NRLM to enhance the program’s impact. She explained that the project aims to empower women at the village level by training them to start their own businesses.

Participants will receive training in various aspects of business, including business methods, idea generation, market control systems, goal setting, saving techniques, and risk assessment. The TOT project is funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, and is facilitated through the CVET program by AMMACHI Labs.

This initiative marks a significant step towards fostering entrepreneurship and economic independence among women in rural India.
