Kollam, Kerala – November 21, 2024: The Center for Women’s Empowerment and Gender Equality (CWEGE), Amritapuri, in collaboration with the Vishwakarma Navothan Foundation, organized a Life Skills Education (LEE) activity for tailoring students in Punalur, Kollam district. The session was conducted by Trainer Remya under the coordination of T.S. Shalini, Zonal Coordinator.
A total of 22 women participants from the Vishwakarma community took part in the activity, which aimed to promote community engagement and literacy.
Program Highlights:
As part of the initiative, students collected books from nearby households and donated them to the local community library in Punalur. The activity not only helped to enrich the library’s collection but also encouraged students to contribute actively to their community’s educational resources.
Objective:
The program aimed to ensure that readers in the community have access to a diverse range of updated books, fostering a culture of learning and knowledge sharing.
Methodology:
Participants collected books from local homes and submitted them to the nearby library, promoting teamwork, civic responsibility, and community participation.
Through activities like this, CWEGE and the Vishwakarma Navothan Foundation continue to empower women with life skills while strengthening community development and educational opportunities.
