Meet Jyothi from Byse, Karnataka. She is a lifelong learner. When she was growing up, she didn’t get the opportunity to go to school and only studied up to the 4th grade. After taking our Rural Toilet Builder course #RTB, she realized that its never too late to learn something new and grow. She now has become an champion for education in her village and decided to ensure that opportunities be made available to all children in the community. While other women in the group are sometimes hesitant, she enthusiastically encourages the group to continue learning new ways of income generation. She has shown a strong interest in teaching sanitation to her children and their friends. She repeatedly has said that though she only completed a few years of formal education, she is determined that her children, including her daughter, will complete their full education and even attend college. Lifelong learning enhances social inclusion, active citizenship, and personal development. Jyothi is a great example of this. #lifelonglearners #womenempowerment #lifeskills #sanitation #teachingandlearning.
