
Announcing the Rekha Eipe Memorial Scholarship Award
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has received INR 30,00,000 from Rekha Eipe Memorial Scholarship Award for Women’s Empowerment and Education to create an endowment fund and provide financial aid to talented students in Amrita’s Masters in Social Work Program on Amritapuri Campus. Rekha Eipe Memorial is focused on building opportunities to develop future leaders and help shape a more equitable society. The funding is expected to benefit thousands of students over the years across the country.
The Scholarship Award will be used to provide scholarships to at least one student each year. Qualified applicants must be enrolled in an academic program at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, currently pursuing a Masters in Social Work Program at Amritapuri Campus and meet Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s general scholarship requirements (e.g. academic standard, code of conduct).
“We appreciate the support of the Eipe Family and are so proud of Rekha Eipe, a dedicated champion of women’s empowerment,” said Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, AMMACHI Labs Director Dr. Bhavani Rao. “This generous gift will help AMMACHI Labs continue to produce graduates that are valued for their leadership and innovation.”
AMMACHI Labs (Amrita Multi Modal Applications and Human-Computer Interaction) and CWEGE (Center for Women’s Empowerment and Gender Equality) of Amrita University use a Problem Driven Iterative Approach to research, design and implement technologies, for the purpose of solving social problems leading to inclusive development of under-served communities. Currently, CWEGE coordinates the postgraduate program under the faculty of social sciences and humanities.
