On 29th September 2025, Shweta Lanke Kane visited Shakti Plastics, a leading facility in Mumbai, Maharashtra, to gain insights into the upcycling and recycling of plastic waste.

The visit focused on understanding innovative processes used to convert PET bottles into usable materials. As part of the exploration, Shweta collected samples of yarn produced from recycled PET bottles, which are being considered for use in weaving applications (wrappers) under ongoing project initiatives.

The engagement provided valuable exposure to sustainable plastic management practices and highlighted opportunities to integrate eco-friendly materials into community-based skill development activities.
