It was two days of training and eight ammachilabs members attended this workshop.
Objective:
The objective of this workshop is to understand the basics of 3D CAD modeling using Solidworks, which includes the portion of 2D sketching, 3D modeling, 3D model assembling, etc.
Outcome:
Every member worked for two days with their computer. Initially, the training people start teaching with PPT, which includes the step by step process or usage of the Solidworks software and then all members worked on the computer. There were very good interactive sessions conducted and everyone used the help.
Then all attendees started the 2D sketching and 3D modelings, then converted the 2D models into 3D models. Participants studied assembling 3D models and learned to modify parts according to the errors found in the assembly.
Conclusion:
As mentioned people with other backgrounds could understand the basics of solid works and how a model can be generated for their use. Since people need to interact, multidisciplinary people, this would help them very much for their research works.
