The 2018 World Health Day was commemorated on April 7th
The 2018 #WorldHealthDay was commemorated on April 7th with the theme “Universal Health Coverage: Everyone, Everywhere” and the slogan #HealthForAll. Throughout 2018, #UHC aims to inspire, motivate and guide UHC stakeholders to make commitments towards universal health coverage.
Community organizer Usha Singh and facilitator Mamata Poayam led the World Health Day celebrations in Malgaon village, Chattisgarh. Villagers participated in the rally organized to spread awareness on #health. ASHA worker, school teacher and #Aserve coordinator were present during the event and led classes for the participants.
In Kalinagar village, West Bengal our community organizer Lipika Sardar Sani and facilitator Sonali Mandal along with the #SHG women organized health day celebrations in the village. A group discussion was organized on the topic “How to lead a healthy life.”
Dr. Khera village, Lucknow facilitator steered the activities with more than sixty people and forty-five children from the village. Ms. Ritika Chaudhary, Officer, Sanitation department and three doctors joined the event and gave awareness about #sanitation and also facilitated medical checkup for the villagers.
Self-help group women, community organizer and facilitator in Sarainoorudindpur village, Allahabad organized a rally to spread awareness on health and sanitation.
In Ratanpur village, Bihar awareness classes were conducted for the villagers by Dr. Rita Sharma, a government doctor. Later on, #CO, health worker and two young girls from village presented a street play on “Open defecation” and led a rally with SHG women and children.
