The Stanford University’s 2018 FabLearn Global Excellence Practitioner Award has been awarded to Akshay Nagarajan of AMMACHI Labs, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, in recognition of his achievements and efforts to advance maker education and for his exemplary commitment to outreach, connecting communities and bringing equity to education in the rural communities in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh.

Akshay Nagarajan’s research at AMMACHI Labs focuses on #MakerEducation for Children and he also manages the #2ndFoundation #Makerspace at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham that encourages children to problem solve and connect solutions to real-world issues that affect them. He has also been instrumental in setting up Tinkering labs in schools in South India.
