Updates from our Champions: Women Empowerment: Community Sanitation through Democratic Participation Project! (WE:CSDP) is in full swing and our champions are busy. Sessions in IT skills, problem solving skills, leadership and various life skills are underway. Other session include health and legal awareness covering topics like hygiene, nutrition, mental health and legal aid.

In the coming days participants will be trained in Self Help Group formation, Swachch Bharat Mission and on how to run their classrooms and events, documentation and reporting etc.

Perhaps the most engaging discussions are happening during the sharing sessions which result in rich intercultural conversations from women from different states, diverse cultures and languages.Through this peer to peer teaching, women are opening up to new experiences which they had previously been barred from. As barriers dissolve, the women are discovering their true inner voice and the resilience of their own inner strength.

The facilitators received a Life Skills Facilitators handbook, a practical manual for the field. Topics include instructions and activities for sessions such as the Ideal Village, spreading of disease hygiene, women’s health, using a toilet, waste management, drinking water, nutrition, free legal aid, RTI, opening a bank account, financial literacy, numeracy, digital literacy, using the internet. #sanichampion, #womenempowerment, #ODFree #WECSDP #GenCen #championsofchange United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF)
