April 2026 Monthly Activities Report
The WE Project Store successfully completed an order for 250 bags received from the Provost Office. The production activities began on 27th March and were completed on 4th April 2026.
The cutting and stitching works were carried out by the Shivashakthi Stitching Unit, while the screen printing for all bags was completed by artisan Aswathy Chechi.
The team conducted proper quality checking before delivering the final products successfully.
The WE Store organised a live interactive session with artisans from Harsani Village and international mentor Glorka, proprietor of Glorka Wear.
During the session, women artisans showcased their wrap skirt designs and interacted directly with the mentor regarding their work and future opportunities.
Glorka encouraged the participants to think about launching their own brands and confidently wear garments designed and stitched by themselves.
Muskan, designer at the WE Store, supervised the sampling process for customized seat head rest covers designed for the amphitheatre of AIMS Faridabad.
The production work was carried out in collaboration with the Amrit SHG Palwali group led by Hemlata Ji in Faridabad.
An order for 20 canvas bags was received from the Amrita Alumni Office on 10th April 2026.
The screen printing and stitching work were independently completed by Aswathy Chechi, who was trained under the SANKALP AVSAR Skill Training Project.
The order was successfully delivered on 15th April 2026.
Rixt, a Master’s student from Groningen University, Netherlands, continued her thesis research activities with the Women’s Empowerment Project Store.
Under the mentorship of Dr. Padma Rao, interviews were conducted with Hemalatha Ji to understand the impact of women-led livelihood and empowerment initiatives.
A special interaction session was organised with Antonia and Rixt to document Antonia’s experience as an international mentor associated with the WE Project Store initiative.
The session explored the role of mentors, international NGOs, and training beneficiaries in creating sustainable livelihood opportunities.
Students participating in an internship initiative organised by the Government of Kerala, Suchitwa Mission, and Pollution Control Board visited the campus to observe sustainability initiatives.
Radhika Shetty and the WE Store team conducted a one-hour session highlighting women’s empowerment and sustainable development initiatives driven by AMMACHI Labs.
The WE Store facilitated an international order execution involving client Crystal Eastman and artisan Aswathy from the Amrita Sankalp Avsar Tailoring Program.
Aswathy secured an order to stitch ready-made sarees and petticoats for the international client.
The WE Store team collaborated with Colour Park, Karunagappally, to introduce hand embroidered photographs as part of a new wedding gifting catalogue.
The initiative combines embroidery craftsmanship with modern printing methods to create unique handcrafted gifting products.
