The WE Project Store continued its efforts to strengthen
women-led livelihoods and
community engagement throughout
March 2026, marked by a series of meaningful activities,
collaborations, and achievements across different regions.
March 3, 2026
The store received an order from the MBA School for
ten hand-painted customized pouches in connection with
International Women’s Day. These pouches were crafted by
Adithya, an artisan trained under the
AMRITA Sankalp Avsar Project – 2023, reflecting both skill
development and market linkage support.
March 4 & 5, 2026
The WE Store team participated in the
Haritham 2026 – Eco Alternatives to Plastic Expo cum Sales,
organized by the Kerala State Pollution Control Board at the
Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium Ground, Kaloor, Ernakulam.
The event provided a platform to showcase eco-friendly and sustainable products created by
women artisans, helping expand visibility and outreach.
March 4, 2026
The media team from Mathrubhoomi visited the
Sivasakthi Tailoring Unit associated with the
Sankalp Avsar batch of students. The work of women artisans
trained under various AMMACHI Labs and
CWEGE initiatives was featured in the newspaper, coinciding
with International Women’s Day and highlighting their
dedication, craftsmanship, and journey towards sustainable livelihoods.
March 5, 6, 7 & 11, 2026
French photographer Eleonore visited the
CWEGE office and received an orientation on the
WE Project Store. During her visit, she documented artisans
including Aswathy, Bincy, and
Adithya at their residences, capturing their work and personal
journeys as part of a broader effort to highlight artisan stories and visual narratives.
March 13, 2026
An exhibition was organized at the Amritapuri Campus in connection with the
Bharathiya Kisan Sangh event, where approximately
700 visitors engaged with the display. This provided a valuable opportunity
to showcase products and raise awareness among a diverse audience.
March 24, 2026
Multiple significant activities took place. An order was received for
six V-neck elastic dresses to be shipped to
Australia for Tula The Label,
an ethical clothing brand known for sustainable practices. The production was carried out by
artisans at AMMACHI Labs and
CWEGE, with
Sumalakshmi Chechi contributing to the stitching process.
On the same day, Anirban, a textile designer and devotee from
Canada, placed an order for
five embroidered pouches. The embroidery was completed by
Jyoti Chechi, and stitching was done by
Vijayalakshmi Chechi, both trained under the
Vishwakarma Project 2025.
March 24, 2026
The Anirban, a textile designer and devotee of Amma from Canada, placed an order for five embroidered pouches. The embroidery work was done by Jyoti Chechi, and the pouches were stitched by Vijayalakshmi Chechi. Both were trained under the Vishwakarma Project 2025 conducted by AMMACHI LABS.
March 26, 2026
Muskan Chhatwal, the in-house fashion designer, visited the
newly established center in Harsani and conducted training
sessions introducing participants to a pleated wrap skirt design
by a US-based designer. The session included foundational training
in measurements and practical exercises to strengthen
tailoring skills.
March 27, 2026
Anirban placed another order for
five Jagannathpuri crochet dolls and
five keychains, which were completed by
Bincy Chechi, trained under the
Sankalp Avsar Project 2023.
On the same day, Muskan continued her training sessions,
guiding participants in working with larger fabric lengths
while also engaging younger children in creative activities
to maintain an inclusive and focused learning environment.
March 29, 2026
The WE Store team in
Harsani engaged the local community in
setting up the center, encouraging ownership and participation.
Community members, including Priyanka and
Jithu, contributed to organizing and inventory efforts, while
digital skills such as Excel were introduced to support
operational management.
Additionally, Anirban placed another order for
five mirror hand-painted peacock bags, created by artisans
trained under earlier AMMACHI Labs and
UNDEF programs in
Kozhikode.
March 31, 2026
The WE Store team supported
Adithya in obtaining a
PAN card by assisting with the application process and providing
real-time guidance. This initiative enabled her to access
formal financial systems and positioned her to support other
artisans in the future, reinforcing the broader goal of
digital inclusion,
capacity building, and
long-term sustainability.

community empowerment.
