When it comes to initiatives and projects for women’s rights and gender equality, Amrita University is a leader on this front. We were given the honor of being India’s first-ever UNESCO chair on gender equality and women’s empowerment.

At present, there are no comprehensive frameworks to effectively capture the extent and scope of social issues. By empowering women and those at the grassroots level who are directly affected, we can gather relevant data that will address social challenges through a holistic and sustainable approach. Vulnerability mapping is the key to understanding these complex social problems.

Within the next four years, field teams from Amrita University alongside women in remote communities will create frameworks and collect data along the following six verticals. #womenempowerment #vulnerabilitymapping
