January 10, 2025: The students of AMMACHI Labs’ Mushroom Cultivation C-VET course celebrated a momentous achievement as they harvested and sold their first batch of mushrooms. A total of 12 kilograms of fresh mushrooms were sold locally, marking a significant milestone for the women participating in this transformative program.
The group, comprised of women from Dunda village, is thrilled with the skills they have acquired and the opportunities this initiative has unlocked. Smiles and optimism filled the air as they discussed their plans to turn mushroom cultivation into a sustainable, home-based business.
This initiative, funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, is designed to empower local women by providing them with valuable vocational skills. By creating sustainable income opportunities, the program aims to uplift rural communities and foster economic independence among women.
