Skill Assessments Conducted at Chooralmala and Meppadi Under Amrita’s Sustainable Livelihoods Program

Wayanad, Kerala – April 24, 2025: AMMACHI Labs, under the Amrita Sustainable Livelihoods and Disaster Resilience Program, conducted skill certification assessments at its Chooralmala and Meppadi centers in Wayanad from April 21st to 24th, 2025. The initiative is part of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s ongoing commitment to empower rural communities through vocational training and resilience-building programs.

At the Chooralmala Center, assessments were held on April 21st and 22nd, where 46 women participants from the Self-Employed Tailor course were evaluated. The Meppadi Center followed on April 23rd and 24th with a dual-track assessment: 22 students were evaluated for proficiency in Computer Applications (MS Office and Tally), while 37 students underwent testing for certification in Self-Employed Tailoring.

Each assessment comprised both theoretical and practical components, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation of each participant’s skills and readiness for income-generating activities.

With the completion of this phase, the program now progresses into the next stage—value-added training and business development support. These efforts aim to further equip women with the tools and knowledge necessary to build sustainable livelihoods, achieve economic independence, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
