Amrita University Engages in Global Dialogue on Ethics, AI, and Education at LMU Munich

Munich, Germany – May 26, 2025 – In a significant step toward strengthening global academic collaboration, representatives from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham joined colleagues at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) for a full day of thought-provoking dialogue focused on ethics, artificial intelligence (AI), and teacher education.

The event, hosted at the Chair of Educational Psychology at LMU, opened with a compelling keynote address by Dr. Bhavani Rao, Dean of the Amrita School of Social and Behavioural Sciences and UNESCO Chair on Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment. Dr. Rao explored the ethical implications of integrating AI into educational settings, emphasizing the importance of embedding compassion, transparency, and responsibility into AI-driven learning systems.

Joining her in this impactful exchange was Dr. Meltem Alkoyak, LMU alumna and current Head of the Department of Cognitive Sciences and Psychology at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. The session sparked an animated discussion among participants, with both institutions sharing diverse insights on how technology is reshaping the landscape of teaching and learning.
