June 21, 2025 – Uttar Pradesh, Bihar & Haryana — In a vibrant display of unity, health, and empowerment, Amrita SeRVe villages across Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Haryana came together to celebrate International Yoga Day 2025. Organized by AMMACHI Labs and facilitated by dedicated Amrita SeRVe Community Organizers, the day saw enthusiastic participation from women, children, and local leaders committed to holistic well-being.
The event opened with a collective prayer, setting a serene tone for the yoga sessions that followed. Participants practiced traditional sequences such as Surya Namaskar and essential asanas including Anulom-Vilom, Tadasana, Bhujangasana, Vajrasana, and Trikonasana. The sessions concluded with guided meditation, offering participants a chance to experience stillness and inner harmony.
A local community health worker addressed the group, highlighting yoga’s scientifically proven benefits in managing stress, blood pressure, and immunity — especially relevant for women balancing multiple roles in rural households.
A standout moment occurred in Kanti village, Haryana, where Village Sarpanch Mr. Devi Singh Debu personally led the session, motivating women to embrace yoga as a regular wellness practice. His leadership drew widespread attention and inspired broader community involvement.
Key Highlights:
177 women and 67 children actively participated
Events held across villages including Bheeri, Kanti, Thariyal, Sarai (Uttar Pradesh) and Ratanpur, Morasia (Bihar)
Strong grassroots support from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and SeRVe facilitators
