Arizona Student Brings Global Entrepreneurial Insights to AMMACHI Labs Internship

Karunagapally, Kerala – July 2025 : AMMACHI Labs was delighted to host Beatriz Winters, a student from Arizona, for a three-week internship (June–July 2025) under the WE STORE Project.

During her internship, Beatriz visited the Vishwakarma Tailoring and Embroidery Group in Karunagapally, where she interacted closely with the students, gaining firsthand insights into their operations and challenges.

Through engaging sessions, she introduced creative, activity-based learning tools that encouraged self-reflection, collaboration, and problem-solving. Drawing from her own remarkable journey—transitioning from a coffee grower in Honduras to becoming an international entrepreneur at the age of 50—Beatriz shared practical lessons on resilience and enterprise.

With support from the Women’s Empowerment Project Store team, she transformed her experiences into valuable discussions on entrepreneurship and sustainable growth. Key topics explored included:

  • Securing orders and managing costs

  • Mapping resources effectively

  • Overcoming setbacks with resilience

  • The importance of mentorship

  • Ensuring quality control in production

  • Planning for long-term sustainability

Her visit infused the unit with fresh energy, ideas, and confidence, motivating the women to move forward with clarity and purpose. In appreciation, the students treated Beatriz to home-cooked Indian meals, a gesture that highlighted the deep cultural exchange and warmth of the experience.

Inspired by the women’s determination, Beatriz has committed to continuing her mentorship remotely from the United States, offering ongoing strategic guidance to strengthen their entrepreneurial journey.
