Kollam, Kerala – September 30, 2025: The Center for Women’s Empowerment and Gender Equality (CWEGE), Amritapuri, in collaboration with the Vishwakarma Navothan Foundation, conducted a Life Skills Education (LEE) session on personal hygiene for students of VKR Public School at Kunnikode, Punalur. The session was facilitated by Trainer Remya under the coordination of T.S. Shalini, Zonal Coordinator.
A total of 40 school students participated in the program, which aimed to raise awareness about personal hygiene practices and promote healthy lifestyle habits.
Program Highlights:
The session included interactive discussions on self-hygiene and handwashing, complemented by educational videos. Students were provided with handwashing facilities and taught proper techniques to incorporate into their daily routines.
Objective:
The program sought to enhance students’ soft skills, including communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, while encouraging responsible personal hygiene practices.
Outcomes:
Following the session, students were grouped to select topics addressing social issues in their community, providing them with practical, hands-on experience in leadership and civic responsibility. Participation in the activities helped students gain confidence, improve expression, and collaborate effectively, fostering both personal growth and social awareness.
Through initiatives like this, CWEGE and the Vishwakarma Navothan Foundation continue to empower young students with life skills that extend beyond the classroom, preparing them to make meaningful contributions to their communities.
