A milk collection society in Gujarat village
A milk collection society contributes towards strengthening the livelihoods of smallholder milk producers who form the majority of India’s milk production system. This producer-centric institutional structures strictly conform to cooperative principles and provide rural milk producers a greater access to the organized market.
In Gujarat, our community organizer facilitated the constitution of a new milk collection society. In the society formation meeting, around 180 people participated and 131 people officially enrolled as members. Newly elected heads of the society are Komal Parmar (President), Parul Parmar(Vice President) and Radhe Parmar(Secretary).
