“Breaking Stereotypes, Building Harmony: The Impact of CWEGE’s Workshop at Amrita School of Dentistry”

March 2024, The Center for Women’s Empowerment & Gender Equality organized an engaging workshop at the Amrita School of Dentistry to mark International Women’s Day. The workshop attracted more than 40 enthusiastic participants from the second year of the Bachelor of Dental Surgery program.

The main objective of the workshop was to challenge and address existing gender stereotypes prevalent in our society. Through hands-on activities and discussions, participants were encouraged to examine these stereotypes critically and consider how they could contribute to fostering gender harmony. The workshop specifically focused on the Indian context, acknowledging the unique cultural and societal dynamics that impact gender relations.

One of the key aspects of the workshop was prompting participants to reflect on their individual roles and actions in promoting gender equality. By encouraging self-reflection and dialogue, the workshop aimed to empower participants with the knowledge and tools to actively contribute to creating a more inclusive and equitable society.

Overall, the workshop at the Amrita School of Dentistry served as a valuable platform for raising awareness, initiating conversations, and inspiring meaningful action towards gender equality and empowerment.
