Hyderabad, April 8, 2025: Dr. Bhavani Rao, Director of AMMACHI Labs at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, participated in the high-level “AI Readiness Assessment Methodology (RAM) in India” Stakeholder Consultation held today in Hyderabad. The event, jointly hosted by UNESCO and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), convened national and international experts to shape the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI) policy and deployment in India.
Dr. Rao contributed to a focused breakout session exploring AI’s impact on the future of work, where she engaged in vital discussions surrounding ethical AI deployment, workforce preparedness, and governance frameworks. Her contributions highlighted the importance of inclusive and human-centered approaches to AI innovation, especially in the context of emerging technologies and vulnerable populations.
The consultation featured insights from key thought leaders, including Dr. Tim Curtis (UNESCO), Shri Abhishek Singh (CEO, INDIAai Mission), and Dr. Krishnashree Achuthan (Dean, PG Programs, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham). Together, participants discussed strategies to foster a responsible and inclusive AI ecosystem in India, ensuring technological advancements are aligned with national goals and the Sustainable Development Agenda.
Topics ranged from ethical considerations and algorithmic transparency to the transformative role of AI in sectors like healthcare, education, agriculture, and financial inclusion. The collaborative spirit of the event underscored India’s growing commitment to building a future where AI is safe, fair, and impactful for all citizens.
