April 7, 2025 – Uttar Pradesh : In celebration of International Health Day, AMMACHI Labs organized a special health awareness event across several Amrita SeRVe villages in Uttar Pradesh, engaging more than 120 community members in an educational and interactive program centered around the theme “Healthy Plate.”
The event aimed to raise awareness about nutrition and healthy eating habits, particularly among women and children. Participants were divided into two groups to explore the concepts of a Balanced Diet and an Unbalanced Diet. Through colorful drawings and creative presentations, the groups illustrated the importance of nutritious food choices and the potential consequences of poor dietary habits. This hands-on approach made learning both fun and impactful, encouraging participants to take practical steps towards improving their long-term health.
Adding to the day’s learning, a health awareness video session was also conducted, offering simple yet powerful tips for maintaining everyday wellness. Topics included hygiene, food safety, hydration, and the benefits of incorporating local and seasonal fruits and vegetables into daily meals.
This initiative aligns with the goals of Amrita SeRVe (Self Reliant Village), a rural empowerment program launched by Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma) in 2013. The program is dedicated to fostering self-reliant and sustainable communities and supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially in the areas of good health and well-being.
By fostering awareness and empowering local communities with knowledge, the event marked another step forward in promoting holistic health and sustainable living in rural India.
