Educating school children on basic #hygiene and #sanitation is very important as they are in a good position to drive change in their families and communities. In the rural villages in India, especially women and children, are being trained by AMMACHI Labs to improve their #health and #wellbeing. Specifically, the focus is on improving access to safe drinking water and hygiene practices in daily life. To tackle the problems caused by bad hygiene &sanitation and a lack of health awareness, AMMACHI Labs’ deployment team is training the village people to learn how to protect themselves.
In Malegaon village (Chattisgarh), AMMACHI Labs’ community organizer and assistant facilitator conducted an awareness session on the topic “spreading of disease”. Attendees were upper primary school children in the village school and they had a practical session on hand washing techniques too. Students were taught “how to use a handkerchief”. We also had an interactive session where we discussed “prevention and cure of diseases” and “health and hygiene.’
