Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, meant to provide LPG connections to eight crores rural women by 2020. This ambitious Rs 8,000 crore scheme will partly be funded using the money saved from 1.13 crore cooking gas users voluntarily giving up their subsidies through PM’s ‘Give It Up’ initiative.

To organize #UjjwalaYojana campaign in Kodur village, AMMACHI Labs team met with the District Magistrate/Collector Dr. Vasam and District Supply Officer. The officer guided us to approach key personnel of oil companies and the very next day we could organize LPG Panchayat under Ujjwala Yojana at Kodur. Villagers enthusiastically approached to know more to avail the scheme. A detailed report was published in the well-circulated “Enadu” new paper on the 7th July, 2018. The news states that AMMACHI Labs an academic and research center at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in collaboration with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd has organized an awareness campaign.
