Learning Engineering (LE) is a field that aims to support teaching and learning practices through evidence-based decision-making by harnessing educational data. In general, it covers several sub-fields like Learning Analytics, Technology-Enhanced Learning, Educational Data Mining, and Artificial Intelligence in Education. One of the main objectives that LE as a field tries to meet in the future is to support lifelong learning. As it is mentioned in different educational policy documents including NEP2020 in India, 21st-century skills and innovative pedagogies are required to support lifelong learning in society.
In this seminar, the speaker will introduce LE as a field and its subfields on an abstract level so that audience can relate to the bigger picture of supporting lifelong learning. Moreover, some milestone projects from different subfields of LE would also be discussed by the speaker so that the audience can get some deep insights about the works and the way in which they are carried out. Finally, the speaker would also share the technical aspects involved in developing LE tools so that technical students can relate to their possibilities as future professionals or higher studies in this field.
