International Women’s Day 2025: A Celebration of Empowerment Across 101 Villages

March 8th, 2025, as part of the 101 Village Project, members of AMMACHI Labs joined hands with Self-Help Groups and village women across multiple locations to celebrate International Women’s Day. The day was marked by powerful initiatives aimed at fostering awareness, equality, and empowerment.

From inspiring rallies to engaging street plays and informative sessions on women’s legal rights and gender equality, the celebrations were a testament to the strength and resilience of women in rural communities.

A notable moment took place in Kanti Village, where Sarpanch Shri Devi Singh Devu distributed books on women’s rights, equipping women with valuable knowledge about their entitlements. Meanwhile, in Bihar Village, nine out of fifteen families from the marginalized Mushahar community finally received their long-awaited residential certificates and ration cards, thanks to the dedicated efforts of CSC center representatives.

One of the most impactful highlights of the day was the collective oath taken by all the women. By tying a ribbon on their right hands, they pledged never to tolerate or remain silent about any form of violence against women—a powerful and symbolic act of solidarity and commitment.

The event saw overwhelming participation from communities across various regions, including Kanti, New Thariyal, Mehira, Sarai, Giriya, Bheeri, Bihar, and Kalinagar. It was truly inspiring to witness the unity and determination of women from diverse backgrounds coming together to champion empowerment and gender equality.

As we continue to work towards a more inclusive and just society, this celebration stands as a beacon of hope and progress for women everywhere.
