Launch of Skill-eLabs for VET Pilot Training: A Leap Forward in Vocational Education

We are thrilled to announce the commencement of the 10-day Skill-eLabs for VET Pilot Training for Solar Technician and Electronics Mechanic trades at NSTI Mumbai and Government ITI Jhajjar, Haryana on June 10, 2024. Following these initial sessions, the pilot training will continue at NSTI Dehradun and Government ITI, Bicholim, Goa, for an additional 20 days.

Skill-eLabs for VET is an innovative project conceptualized by AMMACHI Labs to design, develop, and evaluate advanced learning technologies such as 3D simulations, augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR). The primary objective is to enhance learning outcomes within the Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) ecosystem. This project, funded under the Sankalp program of Skill India, is implemented by DGT MSDE, the National Instructional Media Institute (NIMI), and AMMACHI Labs, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.

NSTI Mumbai, Maharastra: The launch event was graced by distinguished guests including Shri Ketan P. Patel (Joint Director), Dr. Naresh Kumar Chauhan (Deputy Director), Shri Sujay Barik and Shri Nitesh A. Patil (Solar Training Officers), and Smt Ruchi Rai and Smt Purnima Sarkar (Electronics Mechanic Training Officers). Additionally, 40 enthusiastic students from the electronics mechanic and solar technician trades participated.

Government ITI Jhajjar, Haryana: The first day of the program was a resounding success as students and instructors familiarized themselves with the state-of-the-art Skill-eLab package. Shri Ketan P. Patel praised AMMACHI Labs’ efforts in advancing skill training, while Dr. Naresh Kumar Chauhan commended the research efforts towards multimodal skill training using cutting-edge technologies. The event was formally inaugurated by Principal Shri Jeetpal.

This initiative marks a significant milestone in the modernization of vocational training in India, equipping students with the essential skills and knowledge to excel in the evolving job market. We look forward to witnessing the positive impact of Skill-eLabs on the future workforce.
