Life Skills Training on Non-Verbal Communication for Tailoring Students in Punalur

Kollam, Kerala – September 4, 2024: The Center for Women’s Empowerment and Gender Equality (CWEGE), Amritapuri, in collaboration with the Vishwakarma Navothan Foundation, organized a life skills session on non-verbal communication for tailoring students in Punalur, Kollam district. The training was facilitated by Trainer Remya under the coordination of T.S. Shalini, Zonal Coordinator.

The session brought together 13 women participants from the Vishwakarma community, offering them valuable insights into how non-verbal cues shape interactions and influence relationships.

Program Highlights:
The training explored various forms of non-verbal communication, focusing on their role in creating first impressions, regulating conversation flow, and conveying emotions. A Memory Test Activity was conducted to demonstrate the challenges of distracted listening, allowing participants to experience firsthand the importance of attentiveness in communication.

Objective:
The session aimed to deepen participants’ understanding of non-verbal communication and its significance in both personal growth and community engagement.

Outcomes:
The interactive activities empowered Self-Help Group (SHG) members with communication skills essential for effective governance and collective growth within their communities.
