Republic Day – Sankalp Students meet MSDE Minister in Delhi

January 26, 2024 – Students from various Amrita Sankalp centers throughout India (Kerala, Odisha…) were invited to the Republic Day event organised in Delhi by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India. Their invitation and participation were a great honour, and constituted a tremendous recognition for their achievements as part of the Sankalp project.

During the event, the students met and interacted with Honorable Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and officials from the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).

The SANKALP project (Skill Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion project), is a program by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and the National Skill Development Corporation, implemented in various parts of India by Amrita University, to boost short term Skill Training programs for long term benefits through strengthening institutions, bringing in better market connectivity and inclusion of marginalized sections of the society. Through the training, women gained the skills and confidence they needed to start their own businesses.
