“Spring Preparations: Women of the Bhiri Beekeeping Project Gear Up for Swarming Season”

March 10th, 2024, it appears to be the beginning of spring, as indicated by the blooming of flowers. During this time, the women involved in the Bhiri Beekeeping Project are occupied with tasks related to maintaining their bee colonies. Specifically, they are engaged in cleaning the bee boxes, which are containers housing bee colonies, and replacing the frames within these boxes.

This activity is undertaken in anticipation of swarming, a natural behavior of bee colonies where a portion of bees, along with the queen, leave the original hive to establish a new colony. By cleaning the bee boxes and replacing frames, the women are likely ensuring that the hives are in optimal condition for the upcoming swarming season, facilitating the health and productivity of their beekeeping endeavor.
