Vishwakarma Karunagapally Students Gain Firsthand Insights into Grassroots Entrepreneurship

August 7, 2025 – Twenty-two students from the Vishwakarma Karunagapally Centre visited the Kattilkadavu Shivashakti Stitching Unit as part of an exposure program aimed at learning about grassroots-level entrepreneurship.

Coordinated by Ms. Shalini and Ms. Vinitha from AMMACHI Labs, along with intern Mr. Kesav, the visit offered students an immersive experience into the workings of a small-scale enterprise—built and sustained through teamwork, discipline, and resilience.

Trainer Sindu Chechi and her team warmly welcomed the group and shared their inspiring journey: from a small collective of women with varying stitching skills to a steadily growing and thriving business.

During the visit, students learned about:

  • ⚖️ Daily operations – balancing work and life while managing bulk orders through an assembly-line approach.

  • 📒 Record-keeping – tracking income, expenses, and attendance.

  • 🧾 Client management – handling orders, processing payments, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

  • Problem-solving – addressing challenges such as electricity outages and time constraints.

  • 🏦 Financial planning – acquiring and repaying loans, and sourcing vendors efficiently.

The team’s openness to feedback, commitment to deadlines, and adaptability in overcoming obstacles left a strong impression on the students.

For many, the visit went beyond observation—it became a real-world lesson in entrepreneurship, showcasing how community empowerment and problem-solving can drive sustainable business growth.
