Women Artisans of Amritavarshini Self Help Group Showcase Global-Standard Craftsmanship

Calicut, August 1, 2025 – Through exceptional craftsmanship and dedication, the women of the Amritavarshini Self Help Group in Calicut are setting new benchmarks for artisanal excellence.

A few months ago, this talented collective shipped a significant international order of handcrafted, hand-painted bags to Alberta, Canada—products that embody not only skill but also a profound commitment to cultural heritage and economic empowerment.

Members of AMMACHI Labs, deeply impressed by the artistry and detail, placed a personal order. Yesterday, the bags arrived, accompanied by a heartfelt handwritten note from the artisans. Each bag is the result of over 24 hours of meticulous, focused work.

Featured designs include:

  • “Bhagwan Shri Ram & Sita Devi” – Kerala Mural Art | Artist: Anuragi

  • “The Mirror Image: Blue Peacock” – Contemporary Gond Art | Artist: Sharmila

These are not mass-produced goods—they are original works of art, created by women who are adapting traditional techniques into high-value, globally relevant products.
