Chooralmala, Wayanad, December 22, 2024 : The Skill Development Training Unit, a key component of the Amrita Sustainable Livelihood and Disaster Resilience Program, was officially inaugurated in Chooralmala, Wayanad, on December 22, 2024. The inauguration ceremony was graced by Mr. Basheer, Vice President of the Ansarul Islam Mahal Committee, with Dheekshitamritaji, Incharge of Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Mananthavady, presiding over the event.
Also in attendance were local social activists Mr. Shaji Mon and Mr. Manoj, as well as Mrs. Lalitha, Anganwadi Teacher from Chooralmala. The ceremony was marked by the handover of a tablet containing the Amrita CVET+LEE Learning Module to the designated trainer, symbolizing the commencement of training programs.
Mr. Basheer praised the initiative, highlighting its potential to empower the local community and promote sustainable livelihoods. As part of Phase Two of the program, 62 individuals from Chooralmala will receive training in tailoring, further strengthening the community’s resilience and capacity for self-sufficiency.
This initiative aims to enhance skill development while fostering economic independence and disaster resilience among vulnerable communities in Wayanad.
